For what does Mary praise God in this song? What contrasts does she make in verses 51-53? How do these reflect her feelings about God? About herself?

Mary praises God for regarding her, a "lowly handmaiden"--and raising her up so that generations will call her blessed; He has used His power to put down the mighty and raise up the lowly; He has ensured the continuation of His chosen people.
She contrasts the "mighty" and those of "low degree; the hungry and the rich.
Mary acknowledges God as omnipotent, and she sees herself as "lowly"--a servant/vessel to further God's plan (and she acknowledges the blessing in that!).
